Cannabis, or marijuana, has been the
subject of debate for quite some time now, and several researches on
the benefits of the drug have been published. Recent studies have
unearthed even more potential
healing properties of marijuana
for various conditions, including those that affect the brain.
A study published in the journal
Neuropsychopharmacology claims that an active ingredient in marijuana
can help alleviate post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which
afflicts more than five million people annually. According to the
research, the active ingredient found in marijuana, called THC, may
be more effective against PTSD than known drugs after conducting an
experiment using synthetic cannabinoid on rats.
