Many states in the U.S. like California have approved the use of
cannabis for medical purposes, allowing patients to legally buy marijuana. A
state program called Medical Marijuana Program
provides an identification card for people who need medical marijuana for their
ailments. To get a medical marijuana identification card, there is a simple
process to follow.
- Get a recommendation from a licensed medical doctor. The doctor should assess if you would really benefit from using marijuana before he hands you a recommendation.
- Once you have obtained a recommendation, you can then proceed to applying for a medical marijuana card in the state. You will be asked to fill out documents with your personal information. This information will be processed and stored in a registry along with other card holders.
- You will also need to pay certain fees, which might vary from state to state.
- After everything has been settled, all that’s left to do is to wait for the state to approve your application and send your card.
